Problem
The business sales department needed to speed up the sales cycle.
To achieve this pressure was placed on the sales management team
to implement and enforce sales and performance targets.
Sales tracking was done by clerks who copied and pasted data into
excel from remote data sources. The process took days and the
results were out of date and sometimes wrong. Managers and sales
representatives could not see if they were on track to make bonuses !
Action
An analysis of the reporting workflow provided multiple entry points
for optimization. Copy and paste methods were converted to programs and
data was moved to a permission based web server that delivered enhanced reporting
covering the old expectations as well as many new views.
Automation of manual processes sped up the delivery of results from
days to minutes.
Results
Timely results were delivered via a private web portal
where management and staff could review and if necessary follow up on
sales and KPI targets. Productivity was enhanced both at the level
of results reporting and sales. Managers were able to focus on
actual results rather than lost figures and sales agents concentrated
on active sales.
