Email Marketing

Problem

Email marketing involves sending out 500,000 plus emails to client lists and then tracking events and
site visits for those emails. At the time a third party sent the emails with tracking codes and charged
by the email. The cost was 1000s of dollars for the tracking and metrics platform. Most if not
all of the cost could be eliminated if a way was found to duplicate the functionality.

 

Action

An analysis of the Email tracking portal was done and the functionality was broken into simple metrics.
Sample emails were analyzed for tracking code content. These two exercises made it easy to create
a comparable and expandable set of codes to encrypt in emails. A server application was built

An email marketing application was delivered to the client.
